Note: PST is starved for content and I enjoy making it. If I make a mistake feel free to point it out (so I can fix it)… just do it without calling me braindead. I mean, I am braindead. Idk just don’t say it where I can see it I guess. Also if I rank your team too low or too high; don’t be offended or encouraged. You need to remember that this is being written by a boosted legend 4 Windranger spammer who only builds damage items to get Arcana progress
Rankings
- Steven (Previous: 1)
With a convincing 2–0 stomp of the Doomcow team, Steven’s team stays at the number one spot. Both games were sub 40 minutes and had Steven’s team leading by 20+ kills. - Zend (Previous: 3)
Zend’s team took a 2–0 series win over the thrillhouse squad with a stomp and then a double throw favoring them. Zend is evidently situated in the mid lane this season: and he played it well in week 1. This team has a lower MMR safe/midlane (iFestor/Zend) but if they can perform like this week in and week out this team is set up for success. - CRAP (Previous: 7)
I likely underrated this team at 7 in the post draft power ranks; so I’m gonna compensate for that here and jump them up to 3. They secured a
2–0 series victory against the Velvelvel team (another I underrated in the last edition) in what looked like games they got outdrafted in. - Gronaldo (Previous: 2)
The first team in the ranks with a 1–1… but I’m a big believer in this group. They have two lanes that are extremely difficult to beat; this Fallen/Skia duo is probably the best safelane in the division, unless I’m missing something. Gronaldo is godgamer, and excels in directing his goons across the map. He might need to shore up his drafting process tho, that game 2 draft looks not great. - Forest Bear (Previous: 8)
They are coming into week 2 off a 2–0 victory against the Bsvdfgasdfgsdsdf team. The game 2 wasn’t posted; so I’m gonna assume it was a Forest Bear stomp, and put them at 5. Seems like this group will be on the ‘top teams’ bubble throughout the season. - MOCA (Previous: 6)
Still not totally sure what to think, but they did 1–1 what I regard as a top team in Gronaldo squad. Likely playoff bound, but it’s too early to put them in a higher spot. - Rabisu (Previous: 17)
Welp. This team took my words from last week and shoved them straight back down my throat. Maybe I shouldn’t make bold predictions about the team I’m facing the upcoming week. I’m not actually totally convinced they will remain at 7… I may end up dropping them. But to make up for my harsh words; they get to sit pretty up here for now. There was much speculation (probably mostly from me) that Riv was a smurf. The jury is still out. They didn’t seem totally smurflike (although Riv did play well), but the account is still suspect. At the very least this player has more accounts than they provided. That Arc Warden performance with 20 total games on the hero/last played in 2019? Hmmmmm. Maybe I’m just salty. - Yfu (Previous: 5)
In a battle of the top immortals… yfu and odyssey drew. Yfu and Burgeoning’s teams are the two closest in construction of any two teams in PST. So it was only fitting they battled it out in week 1. But the stalemate didn’t prove much, because I still don’t know how either side will fare against a more well-rounded opponent. I’m gonna keep them both middle of the pack by virtue of having rank > 400 players. Surely that has to count for something. - Burgeoning (Previous: 10)
See above. I’m ranking Burgeoning team lower because Yfu has far more RD2L experience, and I’m a bigger believer in his ability to drag the apes to playoffs. - Pneuma (Previous: 13)
Pneuma faced off against the Neku team and ended up with a 1–1. It’s likely both of these teams end up way higher in the rankings in the 5–7 range, but like with the two teams above; it’s hard to say since they’ve only played one series against each-other. - Neku (Previous: 4)
Neku’s team dropped for two main reasons:
a) I probably way over-ranked them post-draft
b) They lost to a Tidehunter carry. This game went fairly late and the Tide didn’t go damage items. Game 2 was not ticketed so they get put lower than Pneuma. - StonedSpirit (Previous: 11)
The StonedSpirit team still feels mediocre to me. They have 3 solid players in Lane/Zoompa/StonedSpirit, but I don’t see them as a playoff team. Of course there is always potential for them to rise, but they just 1–1ed an arguably weaker team, so I’m gonna keep them in this spot for now. - Michael Jackson (Previous: 16)
Maybe I was too harsh last week? They ended up with a 1–1 against StonedSpirit, and MangoGirl didn’t even play Lone Druid in the win. To be fair… Jugg is pretty braindead, but it’s nice to see options exist. Furthermore, if teams have to use two bans on the Lone Druid/Lycan than that frees up the Jackson 5 to pick other comfort heroes. Also how did you guys not come up with the team name The Jackson 5? It was right there. Wet Ass Pugna? I should put you guys last just for that. Anyway, I see more potential for this team than I did last week. - Jabinskiz (Previous: Not rated)
I was gonna leave my team off the rankings again, but that’s kinda cowardly. Personally, I see my team more in the 4–8 range, but we did get 0–2ed and these rankings should have at least a little bit of integrity. Still, I’m comfortable putting us above the other 0–2 teams. I’ll probably jump us like 10 spots after we 2–0 next week. - Bsvblahblahblah (Previous: 9)
God typing out Bsvhsvj’s name is a chore. I have to go back and check the order every other letter. This team is probably still really good. Treyn is a god. Deadprez is super solid. I’m sure they just had a week 1 misfire. But they occupy the #15 slot by virtue of being 0–2. I expect they’ll be higher by the end of the season. - Velvelvel (Previous: 15)
As it turns out, pretty much everything I said about this team in the last rankings was totally wrong. They do have two immortals, but neither are playing support. They did get 0–2ed tho. I guess it was against a strong CRAP team, but they get to lounge in the doldrums with the other teams that have 0 wins. - Thrillhouse (Previous: 12)
I still don’t know any of these players and I’m feeling pretty lazy at this point. They got 0–2ed so their gonna get shoved way down here for now. - Doomcow (Previous: 14)
Putting my matchup last in the rankings, where has this gone wrong before? In fairness to Doomcow’s team, they did lose to the team I put at the top. But… none of their cores played well, they lost pretty badly from skimming the dotabuff. Narte maybe still needs time to adjust to the carry role, and same with Doomcow mid. Healthysnacks also looks like he had a rough series. Unless they stomp us next week, this team might be still be sitting in last place in the rankings.
MVPs
Burgeoning/Yfu Series
MVP: Odyssey
Odyssey managed to win mid both games, and that gets them the MVP in this close series. Yfu might deserve it more with a dominant score-line across both games, but the head to head mid matchup victories give Odyssey the edge.
Michael Jackson/StonedSpirit Series
MVP: Mango Girl
Mango Girl proved the haters wrong, and scratched together two impressive performances on heroes that aren’t Lone Druid. This isn’t me just being charitable either, Mango Girl was legitimately the standout from the two games.
Bsvhsvj/Forest Bear Series
MVP: The Chazz
Since only one game is on Dotabuff, I’m going with the top performer in the game. The Chazz with a sick 20/5/15 Pugna game snags the MVP.
Jabinskiz/Rabisu Series
MVP: Ripley
Only game 1 was on Dotabuff, and Ripley’s Underlord wasn’t particularly noteworthy. So you’ll have to trust me, Ripley played the absolute shit of the Sand King hero. His initiations/stuns absolutely won his team the 2nd game. There could probably be an argument for Riv to get it, but he tipped too much and it kinda tilted me so
Neku/Pneuma Series
MVP: Linkdx
Another series with only 1 ticketed game, Linkdx had a monster 17/1/23 physical Puck game in which (I’m assuming) he absolutely shredded Neku’s team.
Steven/Doomcow Series
MVP: Rhyzerz
I was going to give it to Staylin, but he was on annoying comfort heroes. Then I saw General Pinky had two nice games, but he played Necro and Veno so eh. Rhyzerz played pretty well from the mid lane; racking up 15 kills on Batrider in game 2.
CRAP/Velvelvel Series
MVP: CRAP
CRAP put together the best series of the 10 players, leading his team to two W’s with nice performances from the midlane.
Zend/Thrillhouse Series
MVP: ksic
Ksic put together a sick Rubick performance in game 2, with a 12/3/27 KDA from the 4 position. Zend/iFestor both played well in their core roles, but I’m gonna give the MVP to the Rubick. Not often that the losing side gets an MVP, but unless this guy just pressed W to KS 12 times, it’s too impressive to ignore.
Gronaldo/MOCA Series
MVP: Treebeard
Tree went 11/2 on Oracle in a 24 minute game and if that’s not MVP worthy I really don’t know what is.
Predictions
Zend 2 | 0 Forest Bear
Zend and iFestor keep rolling in their core roles. Vktr stomps in the offlane. Zend team pulls out a somewhat close 2–0.
Steven 2 | 0 Crap
Steven’s team is too much for the still solid CRAP squad to overcome. Seriously how did Steven get away with this draft?
Rabisu 2 | 0 Michael J. Jackson
The rabites continue proving how dumb I am, and cruise to an easy 2 game stomp of the weaker team. Afterwards, one of MJJ’s players messages Treebeard about Riv’s account lookin sus.
MOCA 1 | 1 Neku
MOCA’s team outdrafts Neku’s in both games, but they throw one of the games allowing Neku to secure 1 win in a tight series.
Pneuma 0 | 2 Gronaldo
Gronaldo grabs two easy dubs in a series that’s not all that close. Pneuma is forced to ban the Skia Rubick allowing Gronaldo to play one of his signature heroes.
Yfu 1 | 1 StonedSpirit
Yfu 1v9’s in one of the games, but StonedSpirit’s more well-rounded lineup gives them the W in the other.
Burgeoning 0 | 2 Velvelvel
Odyssey cannot out-carry two fellow immortals, and Velvelvel’s team wins both games.
Thrillhouse 0 | 2 Bsvhsvj
Treyn and Deadprez go off in both games against lower MMR opponents. Bsvhsvj plays just well enough to edge out the Thrillhouse team in two straight games.
Doomcow 0 | 2 Jabinskiz
Despite Toth feeding, Phoenix and SteveyRuggles do enough to procure the series 2–0 over the Doomcow team. Narte has a better series than week 1; but needs more experience in the carry role.
