Week 4 Power Rankings (Low Effort Edition)

  1. CRAP (Prev: 1)
CRAP team keeps rolling in a 2–0 victory against Ripley’s (Rabisu left) team. CRAP has continued to impress; picking some unorthodox mid heroes (Weaver/Underlord) and still dominating this week. Deesul and BigBoiAnus complete this tri-core and make it the strongest in PST so far.
  2. Zend (Prev: 2)
The Zend boys proved their worth again this week by sweeping MOCA’s team in two pseudo stomps. Despite them looking like a clear top tier team; they have a lot of potential to drop. A legend/low-ancient Carry/Mid duo gives me pause when I consider how they might fare in my predictions every week. But that has not yet been an issue, and until it does at #2 they stay.
  3. Pneuma (Prev: 7)
Pneuma’s team continues to climb. This jump might be too much, but I’m completely sold. Which maybe actually isn’t the best sign given my track record. Pingaling is looking like the most value legend carry in RD2L history (At least in the 3 seasons I’ve been in PST). They are up to 5–1 and have an upcoming matchup against a surprising StonedSpirit team.
  4. StonedSpirit (Prev: 10)
Another large jump, StonedSpirit is now 5–1. I was going back in forth on this one… They’ve played what I consider weaker teams in weeks 1 and 2. On the other hand they just dismantled the Forest Bear squad. So StonedSpirit gets to be in the top 5 until they are no longer deserving.
  5. Velvelvel (Prev: 12)
Wow that’s a lot of shakeup in the top 5. Vel gets the spot because…
    a) he asked for it
    b) they beat my pre-season #1
I actually would have put them at #4 but if you ask for a rank you shall receive!
  6. Forest Bear (Prev: 3)
I’m not going to drop them too much. This team is still a playoff contender and they lost to a Pneuma team I’m all-in on. Hopefully they can right the ship and show their mettle in a matchup with Ripley this week.
  7. Thrillhouse (Prev: 13)
Thrillhouse might be on the fast track. They fucking crushed my team in a series that I’ve already attempted to forget. They have a solid core trio and a unique playstyle that might be hard to deal with in the regular season. They were a complete mystery to me in the pre-season, which is a large reason I had ranked them so low. But so far their only L’s are to Zend. Hint: make sure to scout this team.
  8. Steven (Prev: 5)
Uh oh. Steven keeps on dropping. He actually asked me to rank them last, but I still think this team can be in that upper echelon. They’ve taken some rough losses but surely they can recover. I may have cursed them by giving them a #1 ranking. Sorry lol. I’m still a believer! They will bounce back strong this week.
  9. Ripley (Prev: 6)
Ripley’s (no longer Rabisu) team had a tough series against CRAP. You can’t fault them for losing that series, but it does necessitate a rankings drop.
  10. MOCA (Prev: 8)
The most middling team of Middleton. After 4 weeks, I still have no clue if they are a contender or a pretender. I’m going to error on the side of caution and go with pretender for now. They did have a hard matchup in Zend. And this is now consecutive weeks of me dropping them two places because I just kinda forgot they existed. I don’t really know why that’s happening. I’m making this list and somehow I end up with only 17 teams… Oh shit that’s right! I gotta put MOCA somewhere… Actual apologies to MOCA team
  11. Yfu (Prev: 15)
I need to stop pinballing this team around. Although I really can’t: one week they look terrible, and the next they look great. After stomping Gronaldo’s team (yikes btw) and flaming my predictions (another yikes), they can be happy at 11. Or not. Look on the bright side; if you guys win next week you can say: “nice ranks toth” in PST General.
  12. Jabinskiz (Prev: 4)
We’ve come to the trove of the 2–4 losers. I literally have no clue how to rank any of these teams. But I’ll be damned if I’m putting one of them above my own.
  13. Bsvhsvj (Prev: 17)
They are the only team below this point that managed to grab a series win this past week. For that, and for the fact that I still think they should be a strong team; they get to occupy the ‘best of the worst’ spot.
  14. Michael J. Jackson (Prev: 11)
Pneuma’s a hard matchup, but they did get to pick Lycan in one of the games. Still feel like you can just ban these zoo heroes and this team isn’t really a threat.
  15. Neku (Prev: 14)
This team is still struggling. They tied Burgeoning’s team in their series. They play us this week. There is potential here but it might be running thin if they can’t translate it to wins quickly.
  16. Burgeoning (Prev: 16)
As stated above, they pulled off a tie against Neku. But there is possibility a little bit of standin rigging was happening. ChowMains played for Drabz, and while Drabz is Burgeoning’s carry… they traditionally have played offlane/mid. Idk. Probably not that serious. This team is likely a bottom-feeder unless Odyssey starts literally solo carrying (which has not happened yet).
  17. Gronaldo (Prev: 9)
Oh boy. Gronaldo, my guy. Wtf? How are you losing? I’m gonna preface this with some kindness. Gronaldo is super good. He’s easily the best shotcaller I’ve ever played with. He’s most certainly my favorite person to play DOTA with, because he makes the game super easy. So I have absolutely no fucking clue how they are 1–5 right now. Gronaldo, Fallen, and Skia are all really good players. Maybe their offlane is just too much deadweight? Because that seems like the only answer. Tbh he really needs to just pick his heroes. Like last week Ember was there and Gronaldo didn’t take it… I had this team as a playoff lock to start the season. Now it seems they’ll need a miracle to get there.
  18. Doomcow (Prev: 18)
Not a whole lot to say. Doomcow team hasn’t gotten a win yet so…

Updates:
I’m probably going to keep doing content spread out across the week. It’s a lot easier than to write a bunch of stuff all at once. But if a majority (I’ll send a poll in PST general along with this content) prefers it all at once, I can just write it throughout the week and dump it all on Fridays or something.

There’s a decent chance I’m going to use my Elo program to see if math correlates with my ranks, but it won’t be until after next week. There just isn’t enough match results for it to be useful yet.

Lastly if you take issue with my ranks/predictions or something just remember that it isn’t that serious, I don’t have any malice towards any team… It’s just content made by a shitter lol. Don’t feel the need to send a msg after you prove my predictions wrong
